I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what being an artist is all about… it’s definitely a strange profession to be in, it’s a constant struggle with what you re and what you could be, where, on a daily basis, it’s all about what you are and what you’re struggling for in your life, there are rare moments where you can glimpse for a second, the possibilities of what you might become. The moments where you see what might be are quick, it’s like a flash of a dream you know you had, but though the whole story is shown to you in that little window, you can’t remember the characters or even the plot in any kind of material form. I suppose it’s like this with a lot of people and I’m positive that it’s not just a visual arts thinking, but artists do what they do for a reason… and like those dreams where you see yourself as who you might be, either in some other plane or whatever, you’re left with a taste you can’t quite put a name on.

Dear Patric,
When I saw your work for the first time, I couldn’t stop looking at it. The complexity of your pieces leave me with a feeling of wonder and appreciation. What an amazing artist you are! I’ll be checking your site often. And my husband is ordering The Pale Blue Dot print since it’s the only material object I want for my birthday, this year. I am curious what you were thinking of when you cane up with this one, in particular. Was it a tribute to the late Carl Sagan? With Love,
